Washington, DC – The Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) Board of Trustees today announces the appointment of Teresa-Lynn (Terri) Hinkley, RN, BScN, MBA, CCRC, as interim Executive Director of ACRP.

Hinkley, an active ACRP member since 1997 and an ACRP Certified clinical research coordinator, joined ACRP staff in September 2013 and will serve as interim Executive Director while the Board of Trustees establishes an Executive Transition Committee to develop a timeframe and process for the recruitment and selection of new leadership.

“This decision comes at a time of transformation for ACRP and provides an exciting and unique opportunity to align leadership with our new strategic plan for the future,” says Norbert Clemens, MD, PhD, CPI, Chair of the Association Board of Trustees. “On behalf of the entire Board of Trustees, I would like to thank outgoing executive director James Thomasell for his contributions as executive director over the past 5 years.”

The Association Board of Trustees in January announced for ACRP a new three-year strategic plan, which includes goals to serve as the source for tools, resources, and best practices that support the clinical research community; to serve as the gateway for the exchange of ideas and expertise across the clinical research community; and to champion the interests and perspectives of the clinical research community.

The strategic plan also defined a new mission: ACRP promotes excellence in clinical research. “Today, we embark on the critical first step in fulfilling our mission and achieving our goals,” says Dr. Clemens. “We are excited for what the future holds for us all.”
