May 20 to Mark Recognition of Clinical Research Professionals

Washington, DC – The Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) on May 20 will once again lead a global celebration of Clinical Trials Day by recognizing and honoring the contributions of clinical research professionals and organizations to public health and wellness.

May 20 is the internationally recognized date for raising public awareness of clinical trials and acknowledging the life-changing results of the work performed by clinical research professionals. ACRP will serve as the conduit for its extensive network of more than 13,000 members and industry stakeholders to voice their pride and passion for the contributions they make every day to medical innovation through their work in clinical research.

ACRP also announces launch of clinicaltrialsday.org, a new website that will serve as the platform for Clinical Trials Day celebrations and provide access to free educational events, patient profiles, and perspectives on clinical trials from ACRP Members and clinical research professionals.

“It is important that we take time to recognize the impact of clinical research on our society, and to celebrate and thank the women and men who conduct clinical trials ethically, responsibly, and professionally around the world,” says Jim Kremidas, ACRP Executive Director. “Our mission is to promote excellence in clinical research, and Clinical Trials Day provides us with a terrific opportunity to honor and thank those who support our mission.”

ACRP is proud to announce Chiltern International Ltd. as the official sponsor of Clinical Trials Day 2016. Chiltern is the world’s leading, global mid-sized contract research organization.

“Sponsoring Clinical Trials Day is a way for Chiltern to say thank you to all the dedicated clinical research professionals working to improve global health around the world. Through the contributions of clinical research professionals, we are giving patients and their families hope for better days ahead,” says Jim Esinhart, CEO of Chiltern.
