Applications will be reviewed by the ACRP Nominating Committee, and a recommended public member candidate will be put forward to the ACRP Board for approval. The ACRP membership will vote on the Board-approved candidate slate in October. All nominees will be contacted no later than September with the status of their application.

For 2026, ACRP is seeking a Public Member Trustee who represents the interests of clinical research participants and the broader public, the consumers of services provided by ACRP members. The individual will provide an independent and external perspective that will contribute to a wider view of opportunities and threats to ACRP and the clinical research industry. Candidates with a track record of advocacy on behalf of the public interest are also encouraged.

The Public Member will be expected to attend four Board of Trustees meetings per year, two of which are in person (April & November), and asked to champion the public interest by bringing outside views to the table, representing the interests of clinical research participants and the broader public.
