Academy Item Writers

Item Writing for ACRP Certification

Item writing is an essential component of the exam development process that involves ACRP Certified subject matter experts (SMEs) writing test questions, or items, for future use on ACRP examinations. These items are crafted to ensure they accurately assess the knowledge and competencies relevant to the appropriate certification exam. Guided by ACRP’s Psychometrician and Global Exam Committees, item writers will be tasked with authoring and reviewing test questions. These SMEs will undergo a specialized web-based training to prepare them for this task, ensuring the items they develop are of high quality and meet the standards required for high-stakes examinations. Becoming an item writer provides a platform to directly contribute to the field and is a gateway to further volunteer opportunities within ACRP. Participation as an item writer is recognized with activity points that can be used towards Maintenance of ACRP Certification. Questions? Email us at certification@acrpnet.org.
