Volunteers play an important role in the success of ACRP and the Academy. Serving on a committee or board allows you to actively contribute your knowledge and expertise, build your network, illustrate your leadership capabilities, and help ACRP and the Academy further their missions.
Each year, the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) seeks proven leaders to serve on the Association Board of Trustees (ABoT). This is a great opportunity to serve your association and make a difference within ACRP membership.
The ACRP Nominating Committee holds responsibility to lead the recruitment process for qualified candidates that address the current needs of the ABoT, thoroughly reviewing and scoring each candidate’s application, and submitting its recommended slate of candidates to the Board for approval.
ACRP seeks members from both within and outside the United States to apply for a seat on its Board. Candidates must be active ACRP Members in good standing, possess clinical research knowledge, and demonstrate governance, leadership, business, and/or finance skills to complement the current Board of Trustees in fulfilling and advancing ACRP’s mission to promote excellence in clinical research. For 2025, ACRP is seeking Trustees who are recognized leaders at a Pharmaceutical Company, Contract Research Organization, or Academic Research Organization and have the following background 1) an understanding of the transformation occurring in clinical research such as new models like DCT or AI influence; 2) experience in sales and/or fundraising; and/or 3) diverse industry connections, as demonstrated by varied work experience or other means.
Service on the Board requires a significant amount of time. Trustees are required to participate in at least four meetings per year; travel may be required for two meetings including one held in conjunction with the ACRP annual conference. Trustees also typically serve on one committee with additional virtual meetings. They serve a two-year Board term with the potential to be re-elected for a second term, and must comply with the Disclosure and Management of Conflicts of Interest Policy. ACRP covers travel expenses in accordance with the Travel Policy as approved by the Association Board of Trustees.
