ACRP hosted an exclusive webinar unveiling key findings from the first-ever national survey focused on the evolution of clinical research over the past decade—and your vision for the next.
Clinical research professionals are the driving force behind innovation and patient-centered progress, and the future of our industry depends on your strength, adaptability, and engagement. You are:
Closest to the operations and the patients clinical trials aim to serve
Problem-solvers and innovators, shaping the future of research
Leaders in adopting new technologies like AI and embracing lifelong learning
Agile and resilient in the face of evolving roles and expectations
And that’s why your voice matters.
Developed in partnership with Continuum Clinical (Northbrook, IL), the survey gathered 735 responses from research sites, academic research organizations, and contract research organizations. Initial findings were shared in a press release and discussed during an ACRP 2025 Signature Series session.
Survey Findings Include:
Confidence in Capability: 90% understand their responsibilities; 86% feel well-trained
Progress & Promise: 52% say research conduct has improved; 77% deliver strong patient experiences
Career Outlook: 77% see clinical research as fulfilling; 70% plan to stay in the field
Future Trends: 67% expect gradual change; tech providers and professionals seen as key drivers
Challenges Ahead: Hiring and retention have worsened (52%); protocol clarity and collaboration need improvement
The panelists unveiled a comprehensive report from the survey during this webinar.
Upon completion of this continuing education program, participants should be able to:
Describe clinical research professionals’ perspectives on the industry’s research enterprise across past, present, and future contexts
Identify key trends and challenges shaping the clinical research enterprise
