Clinical Trials Day 2025: Powered by Purpose

ACRP launches its 2025 campaign to celebrate the clinical research workforce.

The Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) is proud to announce the launch of its 2025 Clinical Trials Day campaign, Powered by Purpose.

At the forefront of every therapeutic breakthrough, you’ll find clinical research professionals who are driven by a powerful purpose: advancing treatments that transform patients’ lives.

Clinical researchers move innovative therapies from scientific discovery to the developments of tomorrow. With every data point collected, every protocol created, and every patient served, their contributions have the potential to improve health outcomes and benefit generations to come.

For Clinical Trials Day 2025, ACRP honors the power and purpose of all clinical research professionals.

“Purpose and power—the theme for this year’s Clinical Trials Day says it all. It compellingly signals ACRP’s advocacy for healthcare professionals who play an essential role in the development of new medicines and who are the evidence generators for the drug and device development enterprise. Join ACRP and its incredible group of sponsors who share in our commitment to recognize clinical research professional everywhere for their immense contribution to improving patient health,” said Susan P. Landis, ACRP Executive Director.

This year, ACRP is partnering again with four organizations across the clinical research enterprise who are committed to supporting the clinical research workforce: Advarra (Official Technology Sponsor), Sanofi (Official Pharma/Biotech Sponsor), Thermo Fisher Scientific (Official Clinical Research Organization [CRO] Sponsor), and Velocity Clinical Research (Official Sites Organization Sponsor).

“All of us should be powered by the common purpose of advancing healthcare,” said Christine Senn, PhD, senior vice president of Site-Sponsor Innovation at Advarra and Past Chair of ACRP. “Our industry can be distracted by conflicting interests or roles – as if sponsors and sites are on different sides, or as if being a for-profit or not-for-profit organization makes you any more or less compelled to have the best quality or best patient care. I would like to see us recognize that we are all aligned to a purpose that’s bigger than our jobs or organizations. Let’s collaborate with that Purpose in mind, to make us more Powerful as an industry.”

“Sanofi is proud to support Clinical Trials Day with the Association of Clinical Research Professionals, recognizing not only the dedication of clinical trial professionals but also the volunteers who make research possible. Their collective commitment drives innovation, bringing new therapies to patients in need,” said Lionel Bascles, Global Head, Clinical Sciences & Operations.

“The PPD clinical research business of Thermo Fisher Scientific has long been a supporter of Clinical Trials Day, and we are pleased to join with ACRP in honoring the dedicated professionals who contribute to the development of breakthrough therapies that benefit patients worldwide every day,” said Cris Nieto, Senior Vice President, Head of Project Delivery.

“This Clinical Trials Day, we’re celebrating our team and those working at sites worldwide. Velocity’s workforce now spans six countries and operates across dozens of therapeutic areas. Every day, our people, our clients, and our participants prove that shared purpose drives progress,” said Paul Evans, President and Chief Executive Officer, Velocity Clinical Research.

ACRP will officially kick-off Clinical Trials Day at ACRP 2025, April 24 – 27, at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans. The Clinical Trials Day website offers a variety of digital and print files to celebrate Clinical Trials Day online and in the office, along with tips on how to host a Clinical Trials Day event at your organization.

About Clinical Trials Day

Organized and promoted by ACRP since 2014, Clinical Trials Day is celebrated each May 20 across the globe as a joyful opportunity for the clinical research community to pause in reflection, recognition, and admiration of all that has been accomplished thanks to clinical trials and the people behind them. Clinical Trials Day is the only global awareness campaign dedicated to recognizing and championing clinical research professionals.
