The workforce cuts at the federal agencies charged with guarding the public’s health are unsettling and worrisome. Our hearts and minds turn to our members and those in the broader clinical research community who are bearing the brunt of layoffs, elimination of research funding, and cancellation of programs that work to improve representation in clinical trial participation. We worry about the patients and families who may be left without hope.
In February, ACRP reaffirmed our steadfast dedication to supporting you, reiterated our commitment to building an inclusive clinical research workforce, and reaffirmed our mission and vision: to promote excellence in clinical research and to ensure that clinical research is performed ethically, responsibly, and professionally everywhere in the world.
Today, we offer this: Nothing about what has happened can change what we know about the unmistakable, vital role of our profession. What drove you to choose a career in clinical research and to help lead in the discovery and validation of new medicines doesn’t change. Neither does ACRP’s commitment to ensuring you have what you need to access and advance in this profession—no matter where you are on the journey.
