Employers Beware: Fraudulent Study Team Candidates are Fooling Background Checks
A clinical research associate recruitment firm currently identified that roughly 60% of applicants are fraudulent—meaning that a candidate has falsified all or part of their credentials.
One of the most common forms of falsification is where the candidate has fabricated their employment record. In a recent webinar, the presenter shared how how to identify forged employment when one of the operations managers asked: “But why not just call and verify past employment?” Seems like a reasonable question…doesn’t it? Unfortunately, while many operations managers are aware of candidate fraudulence, they falsely feel they are protected because their company completes background checks and/or employment verifications. This webinar showed attendees that simply conducting background checks and employment verifications won’t always protect from candidates who represent a fake job history.
Upon completion of this continuing education program, participants should be able to:
Identify shortcomings of both background and reference checks.
Understand how to determine if a company listed on a candidate’s resume is real.
Recognize other employment trends that may indicate falsification of credentials.
