ACRP Welcomes Marian Valia as New Head of Learning & Development

Alexandria, Va. — The Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP), the trusted global authority for training clinical research professionals, announced today that Marian Valia has joined the Association as Head of Learning and Development. Ms. Valia is an expert in developing, designing, and implementing learning and career development programs for diverse learners.

Ms. Valia brings more than 20 years of experience to her role at ACRP, including roles at Coursera, a massive open global online course provider, and Mailchimp, where she led the build, certification, and global scale of the company’s learning academy. Most recently, Ms. Valia transformed education offerings at Hudson MX from a series of text-based guides to a fully immersive microlearning experience, building more than 500 courses, 250 assessments, and 200 hours of live training. Ms. Valia brings to her role experience in managing learning management systems, establishing educational partnerships, and managing global learning programs. Ms. Valia also has served as a trainer and coach for talent solution companies. She earned her Bachelor of Civil Engineering from the University of Toronto.

In her role, Ms. Valia will oversee all ACRP learning program development, including in-person and online programs that ensure ACRP’s reputation as a global leader in training and education for clinical research professionals and the clinical research industry. She will usher in new opportunities for online learning and new, innovative formats for ACRP learning.
